La Leche League International Conference and Downtown Chicago Pictures
I just returned from the La Leche League 5oth Anniversary Conference in Chicago and I'm still on a high - so many great speakers and moments.
I was also completely taken with the coolness of Chicago. I took tons of pictures.
Here's a picture of all the nations gathering before the opening parade. there were 42 countries represented at the conference
Here's the parade itself - not a great picture
The 50th anniversary "cake"
My roomate and I were convinced the founders would jump out of it. we were close LOL
This is my roommate - she's a leader who lives near me - the next group south - she and I had SO much fun as roomies. we were both childless (at the conference). I brought wine and she declared to anyone who would listed she had "the best roommate ever" - so were walked to the nearest supermarket every afternoon to restock ;)
I got to sit with Edwina Froelich, one of the LLL founders, at lunch!
So much for my mom saying "no one breastfed 30 years ago" This banner is from my hometown and the woman sitting at the table said it was at least 30 years old. I spied it at the world's fair - which was awesome
Billy Dean, who sings "Let Them Be Little", sang at the conference!!
And I got my picture taken with him!!
OK now alllll my Chicago pictures!
One of the two public libraries near the hotel
A cool walkway designed by Frank Gehry
The reflecting bean at millenium park
A water fountain at Millenium Park - projected videos of faces - they were pretty funny
I opened my window of my room and stuck my camera out to take this picture. of course it was only my view if I could do the same with my head :lol
the room was gorgous btw but I forgot to take pictures. TWO bathrooms!! I wish I could have taken one home with me :lol
Lake Michigan
This globe exhibit by the field museum and the aquarium - Cool Globes
This one's for all the knitters
